Book Swap New Moon Theme
We had a really good time at the Book Swap. Some really good books got swapped around and can’t wait to read all of them. Thank you for everyone who came and shared their favorite reads.
The theme for the book swap was New Moon, since the premier for the movie was that evening. We enjoyed some Italiano with bread and tiramasu, some sinful bread, vampire bitten cookies, cupcakes in honor of FORKS, WA., vampire Cheese Baseball with cracker glove, 7 layer vampire dip, red punch, red blood type drinks, (with printables from hostess with the mostess blog) and flavored coffee.

After the book swap, some of us went to the sold out NEW MOON movie……It was so GOOD!! Loved it!! Can’t wait till the next one comes out.

Thank you all again. I had a wonderful night with great friends/family, FOOD, Books and a movie.

Dawson first day of Mother’s Day Out..
Dawson started Mother’s Day Out, and we couldn’t have been prouder of him. He was such a little man. He hugged us and kissed us and sent us on our way. The teacher’s said he did so good, played well with the other kids, and used the potty. They say he is very well mannered. He fills my heart full!! I am so proud of him. He is only going 9-1…on Tues. and Thurs……..but seems like all day, everyday.
Trick & Treat with lots of Sweets…
Country Casserole from Southern Plate
I have cooked this recipe three times for my family, and we LOVE it. I got it from www.southernplate.com…love this site! Try it…I know you will enjoy it as much as we have.
Country Casserole
2 cups small shell pasta, cooked and drained
3 cups frozen mixed vegetables, cooked and drained
2 cups shredded cheddar, divided
One can French fried onions, divided
2 cups shredded cooked chicken (can use canned chicken)
1 can cream of chicken soup
¼ cup milk
1 tsp pepper
1 tsp garlic powder
½ tsp salt
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine everything in a large bowl, reserving half of the cheese and half of the onions for topping later. Spoon into 9×13 casserole dish. Bake for twenty five minutes. Top with remaining onions and cheese, bake until cheese is melted, about five minutes more.
Freezing options: Instead of freezing this in your casserole dish, simply spoon it into a gallon ziploc bag. Lay the bag flat so that it will thaw out quicker and place it in your freezer. On the day you want it, take it out the night before and refrigerate or place in fridge that morning.
If you forget to do all of this, no sweat! Just microwave the bag until it thaws just a bit, pour into your casserole, and bake!
To bake a casserole that is still frozen, simply place in the oven while the oven preheats. This allows the casserole to thaw quickly and then bake to perfection!
